Opening Event

Following the scientific program on Monday the 25th of July, conference attendees are invited to an opening get-together barbecue starting at 8 p.m (we kindly ask you to book a free-of-charge ticket for planning purposes). The venue is the club house of the renowned German hockey and tennis club Rot-Weiss Köln ( The club is one of the most traditional and successful German clubs in both hockey and tennis and has not only won several national and international titles, but has also developed numerous outstanding athletes.

How to get there: The club house is in front of the Rhein-Energie-Stadium and only a five minute walk from the German Sport University. There will be signs giving directions from the conference location to find the venue at the Olympiaweg 9 - 50933 Köln

Conference Dinner

The Dinner will be held at the Business-Lounge-East in the Rhein-Energie-Stadium. The Stadium is the homeground of the traditional German soccer club 1. FC Köln. An extensive buffet, some cold "Kölsch" (the traditional cologne beer), and the spirit of the long soccer tradition will make this a memorable evening.

How to get there: The venue (Heinrich-Billstein-Weg, 50933 Cologne) is directly next to the German Sport University and only five minutes walking distance from the entrance.

Get together

For all participants arriving on Sunday, we would like to offer an informal "get-together" at the Playa in Cologne next to the conference venue, on Sunday, 24th of July. Meet other people in a nice, relaxed, and charming atmosphere while enjoying a drink and some music. This voluntary offer is a good opportunity to meet other participants of the congress, locals, or to take a look around the close-by conference venue.
